Assemblywoman Diane Harkey Endorses
Robert Ming for 5th District Supervisor
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
June 27, 2014
DANA POINT, CA – Assemblywoman Diane Harkey, heavily favored candidate for the State Board of Equalization, today issued the following statement endorsing Robert Ming for Orange County Supervisor, 5 th District.
“South Orange County has unique geography, from our fabulous resort beaches to our rolling hills and canyons. Our water sheds, transportation and public safety needs differ from most other Orange County areas. Our beach communities and hillside suburbs with flowing trail systems, historic towns, pier and harbor attract locals and millions of visitors each year. As such, we require a strong and focused leader that will be able to find, and more importantly, negotiate funding solutions to address our unique circumstances.”
“We require road and freeway improvements, in addition to public transportation, a variety of sources for water supply, and cost-effective solutions to renovate our most underutilized asset, the Dana Point Harbor, which could generate employment and much needed revenues for public safety and other county-wide priorities.”
“Robert Ming has the career and public service background to negotiate firmly and effectively with the other County Supervisors to ensure South County gets the attention we need and deserve. That’s why I’m supporting Robert Ming for OC Board of Supervisor, 5th District.”
To the endorsement, Robert Ming responded, “It is an honor to have the faith and confidence of Diane Harkey. She will be a strong advocate for Orange County taxpayers on the State Board of Equalization and knows the 5th District well, having served as representative in the Assembly for the past 6 years. I look forward to representing the unique needs of the 5th District on the County Board of Supervisors.”
